Thomas J. Crowley is a senior vice president and partner at Cook Maran where he provides proactive risk management and insurance solutions to more than 40 clients in the contracting, manufacturing, wholesale, distribution and other industries. Tom also manages the agency’s pool contractor niche and provides assistance to colleagues who need guidance in developing a niche specialization.
With over 30 years of insurance experience, Tom prides himself on being hands-on, responsive, attentive and accessible to his clients. He takes the time to thoroughly educate each one on the insurance process and illustrate why it is crucial that he, as their insurance adviser, be involved in their business planning. He also acts as a mentor to other Cook Maran salespeople and assists in any coverage or technical issues the Southampton-based commercial and claims staff may encounter. Tom originally joined the former Maran Insurance Agency in 1986 as a sales trainee.
An active member of his professional and local community, he is the agency liaison to the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New York, Inc. (IIABNY), the largest trade association for insurance agents in New York. Tom previously served as chair of the board for IIABNY and is a member and current president of the Hampton Bays Rotary Club. A dedicated philanthropist, he is treasurer of the AJJ Fund—a 501c3 organization that funds annual scholarships in memory of Art Jones, who was lost in the September 11 tragedy—and is a founding board member and secretary of the Independent Agent and Brokers Foundation—a 501c3 foundation committed to raising $1,250,000 to endow a chair for insurance and risk management at Stony Brook University.
Tom holds CPCU, CRM and CIC designations and is a licensed property and casualty broker and life agent. He earned his B.A. in English literature from Fordham University. Our Team Directory
