As vice president, Kimet Speed has been the commercial services manager of the Cook Maran East Hampton, NY office since 2005 and took on the role of supervisor of the Melville, NY service department in 2010. Her responsibilities include supervising a team of 16 customer service representatives.

Prior to these roles, Kimet spent two years supervising the Plainview, NY, personal insurance department of Cook, Hall & Hyde, which would later merge with Maran Corporate Risk Associates to create Cook Maran & Associates in 2012. Kimet began her career with Cook, Hall & Hyde in 2000 as a personal insurance customer service representative before earning her property & casualty insurance license in 2001. She then became a customer service representative and was later promoted to supervisor of the personal insurance department in East Hampton.

She has earned the designations of certified insurance counselor (CIC) and certified risk manager (CRM), and in 2007 received a Long Island Business News “40 Under 40” award based on her leadership in business, her support of Long Island nonprofit organizations and her commitment to the community.

Before beginning her insurance career, Kimet spent nearly four years as an assistant manager at Brooks Brothers in Riverhead, NY, after receiving her bachelor’s degree in musical theater with a minor in education from Syracuse University.

A Westhampton native, Kimet still resides there with her husband and two small children. She is actively involved with the North Fork Community Theatre in Mattituck and the Riverhead Faculty and Community Theatre in Riverhead and has also served on various committees at the Westhampton Presbyterian Church.
