Joseph L. Pilato, CPCU

Joe Pilato is Vice President of Commercial Insurance at Cook Maran and is responsible for protecting the financial and physical assets of his clients. Through a consultative process, he recommends insurance and risk management strategies based on each client’s unique scenario. Joe, who joined Cook Maran in 2004 as a commercial producer, has more than 30 years of experience in commercial insurance.

As part of his ongoing consultative approach, Joes employs Cook Maran’s substantial claims management resources to control long-term insurance costs for his clients, a resource that distinguishes the firm from competitors. Joe’s client base is diverse; he is adept and comfortable with a variety of business risks and always prioritizes his clients’ needs. By creating risk management programs that best meet the client’s objectives, (rather than ones that yield the highest premium) he develops and maintains solid relationships with his clients built on trust.

Prior to joining Cook Maran, Joe was an exclusive agent with Liberty Mutual for 21 years. During that time he was inducted into the Liberty Mutual Sales Hall of Fame. He earned his Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter designation (CPCU) in 1991.

Joe is an active member of his professional and personal community. Joe is a member of the CPCU Society. He is a trustee of the Southern New Jersey Development Council and also co-chairs their marketing/membership committee. Joe volunteers for the Legacy Treatment Services’ “Ride to Thrive” fundraising cycling event and is captain of the Cook Maran cycling team, which has raised over $100,000 for the benefit of multiple sclerosis research and victim assistance.  Joe is a parishioner and active member of St. Andrew’s Church in Gibbsboro, NJ and is an avid cyclist as well as a car, music and guitar enthusiast.
