Colleen Bab, vice president and service center manager in the Melville, NY office of Cook Maran, is responsible for providing outstanding service to Cook Maran’s 6,000 personal insurance customers, as well as managing a staff of 20 customer service representatives.

A licensed insurance broker, she has participated in a number of insurance company advisory panels and has a diversified insurance background that includes work experience with two national insurance companies, a national broker and an agency specializing in the administration of payroll deduction programs.

Colleen joined the Charles E. Hyde Agency in Port Washington, NY in 1985—prior to the 2012 merger that would result in Cook Maran & Associates, which was renamed Cook Maran in 2015—as a customer service representative. Since then, she has been promoted to personal insurance manager, office manager and vice president of operations. She managed a staff of 18, oversaw claims and commercial and personal insurance customer service.

Before that, Colleen exclusively handled high-end accounts as a personal insurance senior customer service representative at Alexander and Alexander in Melville, NY. She previously worked with National Computerized Agency—which was later purchased by the Chubb Insurance Group—where she administered the payroll deduction plans for two large organizations.

Colleen began her insurance career in 1975 as a personal insurance underwriting clerk for the Great American Insurance Company in Lake Success, NY; she was later promoted to assistant underwriter.

Actively involved in the community, Colleen lives in East Meadow, NY, with her husband and son and explores her interests in travel and reading.
